These are PlasTEAK plugs, or bungs, for your trim lumber project or custom trim installation. They are used to hide screws when a 3/8″ countersunk hole is used, like for this handrail in the photo. Use a hammer to gently tap the plug into a hole. Cut the portion of the plug that’s still sticking up so that it’s flush. Lightly sand the area to blend and the plug will be minimally visible.
These plugs will fit tightly and don’t require glue. Please note that the trim lumber, including these plugs, can not be glued. Glue or paint will not stick to it. Trim lumber must be installed by using screws or other mechanical fasteners. Sealants CAN be used with the screws. Sealant will form a gasket between the trim lumber and substrate which will create a seal to prevent water leaks.
