As Southern Boating says, “Adding an aftermarket swim platform is a snap when you use high quality materials and accessories… Swim platforms are everywhere on newer yachts, and with good reason. Family-friendly, they improve access to the water, allow safer swimming and scuba activities, and provide a much safer and easier platform for recovery during man-overboard operations. Older boats, however, seldom are equipped with convenient swim and dive platforms with ladders, handrails, and easy cockpit access. Center cockpit sail designs especially tend to feature high freeboard, requiring long, heavy ladders that may be difficult to use. Fortunately, adding a swim platform to an older yacht can be a manageable project…”
