Are Plastic Grates made from recycled materials?

← All Topics

Plastic grates are designed to bear non-structural weight for long periods of time and must be safe for traversal. If they are too flexible, they may warp under weight and can become less safe for foot traffic. Recycled plastic limits the strength and flexural stiffness of plastic grate tiles, and it is not appropriate to convert recycle plastics into grates.

However, the polymers used to make plastic grates are 100% recyclable (if supported by your local recycling center), and can be disposed responsibly. Your local regulations will dictate whether grates needs to be recycled as construction waste or whether they can be handled as standard household refuse. Read more about recycling plastic grates.
